Renowned Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Parts in Friends and The Middle, Passes Away at the Age of Sixty.
American actor Pat Finn, who was seen in popular programs like Friends, "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has passed away aged 60.
The comedic improv actor passed away at his residence in Los Angeles this Monday following cancer treatment beginning in 2022, per media reports.
"Pat considered no one a stranger - only friends he had yet to meet," his family shared in a statement.
They added that he had "lived his life fully - with happiness and energy".
A Notable Television Career
His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the brother of the main character.
He was also seen in a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" in the latter half of the 1990s.
He starred as Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, depicting a social organizer who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.
Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on several well-known programs, such as:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
His most famous role for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight series from 2011 to 2018.
His cinematic roles encompass It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Off-Screen Life
Beyond his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was part of a comedy group of six known as Beer Shark Mice.
"He coached, befriended and mentored many learners during his career and it would be difficult to find someone anyplace who has a bad thing to say about him," his relatives stated.
In a tribute, fellow actor actor Richard Kind noted there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote on social media.
The actor is leaves behind his partner Donna, his children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
