New Particulars Emerge Concerning the Location of Rob and Michele Singer Reiner's Bodies
New information has come to light concerning the untimely demises of esteemed film director Rob Reiner and artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were found at their Los Angeles home residence on Sunday.
The Alarm
A source indicates citing a confidential source, a therapist scheduled for an appointment initially became concerned after being unable to gain access the house. The therapist then contacted the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives close by.
After gaining access to the house, Romy found her father's body. Reports state she then exited the property overwhelmed with grief, not realizing at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. Her roommate who had gone with her promptly called 911. Subsequently, emergency responders located Michele Singer Reiner's body.
Legal Proceedings
Authorities have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of murder in the first degree, including the use of a dangerous weapon, said to be a knife. He is presently in custody and is ineligible for bail.
Correcting the Record
The person close to the family questioned several initial details. They said that while Romy Reiner told emergency responders that her brother Nick resided in a detached unit on the estate, she did not point to him as a person of interest at that juncture.
Furthermore disputed circulated notions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been particularly "concerned" about Nick's conduct in the weeks leading up to the incident. Instead the family was "used to working through [Nick's] problems together."
This correction also extends to descriptions of reportedly "unpredictable" behavior by Nick at a party held by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the discovery. While the source noted they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "chastised" his son at the party, they said that claims of a "major confrontation" between the two were not correct.
Ongoing Inquiry Details
As stated by law enforcement officials, the medical examiner had not yet established as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died late on Saturday or on Sunday. Some accounts suggested the condition of their bodies implied they had been dead for a number of hours.
Nick Reiner was apprehended at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park, roughly 15 miles from the family home. He was scheduled to have a hearing on Tuesday, but his lawyer, Alan Jackson, stated his client had not received medical clearance and would not appear until no sooner than Wednesday.
